For over 25 years, K Civ has transformed lives through music - a true tastemaker whose globally-influenced sound feeds every musical palate.
Often referred to as “a DJ’s DJ”, K Civ is committed to educating audiences about both new releases and timeless classics. He makes a lasting impression on listeners in any setting, from a serene downtempo lounge atmosphere, midtempo weekend dinner vibes, or igniting the energy at bars, clubs, and festivals.
K Civ’s love of vinyl started early, with a collection that now boasts over 10,000. His wall and crates showcase a wide array of genres that you’ll find in his soulful sets, including house music and its sub-genres, alongside Disco, Jazz, Latin, R&B, Soul, D&B, Techno, Reggae, Afrobeat, and Global Soul.
Resident of Boston since 1998, K Civ honed his ear for exceptional musical talents working at prestigious record stores in the area, while performing worldwide. He earned fame as resident DJ at “Soul Revival”, recognized by Rolling Stone and Urb Magazine as one of America’s hottest dance parties.
During this dynamic time, K Civ co-founded Immers Music, a boutique deep house record label. His productions and edits have been praised and played across the globe by top DJ’s in the house music scene.
K Civ has remained dedicated to vinyl through the digital area and founding his second label Love On Vinyl Record Co., shining a light on timeless soulful music through the art of vinyl.
Though based in Boston, K Civ has carried his music passion around the globe, reaching cities like NYC, Chicago, Detroit, as well as Mexico, Costa Rica, and France. His recent vinyl sets in Miami (Dante’s HiFi), Montreal (Cafe Gotsoul), Boston (SpyBar), and Atlanta (Echo Room) further highlight his expanding influence.
TUSK
DJ and Production Duo | New Jersey/Boston-based
Tusk offers a dynamic vinyl experience unlike any other - providing the perfect soundtrack for a relaxed lounge atmosphere or an energetic dance party that gets both soul and body moving.
After years of performing separately at various events, K Civ (Immers, Love On Vinyl) and DeepJust (GetOpen Sessions) grew their connection based on their shared expansive tastes in soulful music.
In 2019, they joined forces to launch TUSK, a monthly deep/afro/techno music and dance experience, with the first event held in Boston, MA, expanding into producing soulful hit remixes and edits under the same name.
Having played events and festivals in various locales, including vinyl listening experiences in Miami (Dante’s HiFi) and Atlanta (Echo Room), listeners can enjoy a blend of both classic and new music.
Their diverse selection spans genres such as house, disco, techno-inspired, and African & Latin global sounds, with each set thoughtfully curated for each event.
